Our first year with Evie

September 23, 2023

By the time this post goes up, Evie will be two! I had intended to get all this up last year but life happened I never got round to creating this post and video. Since I created one for Lucy, I figured Evie deserved one too 🙂

2021 in Review

January 6, 2022
Brought in 2021 with some fireworks in game and on the TV

I don’t usually do ‘In Review’ posts, but the last 2 COVID-filled years have started to slowly grind me down. I miss the ‘old normal’ greatly. With the Omnicron variant currently spreading wildly in my state, I do wonder if this year will run any different. I really hope that it will.

I wanted to make a post on here to capture and reflect that I actually did do things in the last year despite it all. I’ve been feeling bad that I’ve been neglecting this little part of the internet for a while too.

The moments here range from the small and miniscule to the more eventful, in no particular order.

A year with Lucy

May 17, 2016

Today marks the one year anniversary of picking up our little fluff ball known as Lucy. On this day last year we drove over an hour out of town to pick her up from the breeder and she sat on my lap in a laundry basket on the way home. It was a truly exciting day for us and especially for me as Lucy is the first dog I’d ever owned.

Coming home from work has never been the same with an overjoyed puppy greeting you at the door before bringing a toy over to play. Having her come over and lay as close as possible to you on the sofa on a cool night is equally heartwarming. While there have of course been challenges over the past year (including but not limited to toilet training, teething, an ear and eye infection, a bout of fleas, a scary attack in a dog park, a couple of hair matts, all along with her general timid nature around strangers), she is so much a part of our lives now that I can’t imagine it any other way.

6 month catch-up

6 month catch-up - my office desk
6 month catch-up

Time has gotten away from me since the start of the year and I haven’t really felt like writing. I’ve had a few posts planned for a while now but just haven’t had the motivation to finish them, which is frustrating because I’ve wanted to post more. To try and get myself back into the swing of it I’d thought I’d do a quick catch-up post about some of the things that I’ve been up to over the last 6 months to cover my gap of absence.

A little update

February 3, 2013

I haven’t really posted anything since the start of the year and I apologise for that. It’s due to being partly busy and partly lazy. I’m hoping to get back into it, I just need to work out a better schedule I’m more likely to stick to that lets me work on other personal projects as well (to be shared in due time). I’m hoping to do a couple more favourite artists and unique everyday design posts plus try out a couple of new types of posts ^_^.

In the mean time, I leave with this little piece of inspiration from Brain Picking’s article “How to Write with Style: Kurt Vonnegut’s 8 Keys to the Power of the Written Word“.

Moving Out of Home!

April 4, 2012

If you’ve been wondering where I’ve been over the past week (all 3 of you), I’ve actually been in the busy process of moving out of home!

After living in the same house for nearly 22 years, my boyfriend and I have moved into a cozy unit closer to the city. It’s been a bit of a roller coaster, both physically (I’ve never lifted so many boxes or put so many things together) and emotionally. We’ve only been in a couple of days but we’re slowly settling in, there’s still plenty of boxes of stuff that need to be put somewhere or hidden away for the time being.

I can haz blog?

April 9, 2011

Well it seems that I can! Hello and welcome to another little part of the web!

I’m Tash, a short blonde haired girl living in Brisbane, Australia and currently working as a graphic/web designer. You check out my portfolio site here. I also have a Twitter and Tumblr account which you can go and have a gander at.

So why am I starting up this blog? Well there’s a few reasons behind that. One reason is that I want to play around and get used to using WordPress and learning to customise it. As a web designer I like to play around with this kind of stuff and I think this is a good opportunity. Don’t worry though, I promise I won’t be changing the theme every 2 seconds, it’s more of a refresher thing for me should I ever need to work with other sites built in WordPress.

My second reason is to practice writing. For some time I’ve been meaning to start some writing projects that I’ve had ideas for, however I’ve held myself back because I know that I’m not the best writer on the block. Because I know that becoming a decent writer means writing all the time, I figured a blog of some sort would help in some way.

Lastly, and probably the main reason behind it all, it to get things that I’ve be thinking about and work that I’ve created out there. I’ll be posting about new work I’ve done, things I’ve bought, places I’ve been and the like. I love the idea on getting feedback for these things too, like a diary that talks back 😛

So that’s the agenda for this little blog. More posts coming soon!.
